Data-Driven Conversion Optimization

Traffic isn’t the problem. What happens next is.

Most conversion advice starts with the page. Ours starts with the person looking at it: what they were trying to do, where they got confused, and where they left. We diagnose funnel friction with analytics and behavioral research, then fix it through UX, messaging, and information architecture. Nothing ships without a hypothesis, and nothing stays live without a result.

Why your funnel needs a strategy, not a redesign

A redesign is a guess dressed up as a decision. Someone decides the button should be blue, or the form should be shorter, and the site gets rebuilt around that opinion. Conversion optimization works the other way. We start with what your analytics and your users are actually telling us, form a specific hypothesis about why visitors aren’t converting, and test it before we commit to it.

We wrote about this exact pattern in Your Blog Is Getting Traffic. It’s Just Not Going Anywhere. Visitor counts climbing while pipeline stays flat is a symptom, not the underlying problem. The diagnosis has to happen before the fix.

What’s included

Analytics & Behavioral Research
We start in your data: session recordings, heatmaps, funnel reports, and analytics platforms, to find where visitors hesitate, backtrack, or leave. This is the diagnostic layer everything else depends on. No workstream below starts without it.

UX & Information Architecture
Once we know where the friction is, we map the user journey against it. That means restructuring navigation, page hierarchy, and content flow so the path to conversion matches how a visitor actually thinks, not how the org chart is organized internally.

Messaging & Value Proposition
A confused visitor doesn’t convert, no matter how clean the design is. We test and refine headlines, positioning, and page copy until the value proposition is immediately clear, specific to the visitor’s intent, and different from what a competitor’s page says.

Forms, CTAs & Funnel Friction
Every field, every button label, and every step between interest and action is a place a visitor can drop off. We audit form length, CTA placement and wording, and multi-step flows to find and remove the friction that’s costing you conversions you already paid to attract.

Experimentation
Hypotheses get tested, not assumed. We run structured A/B and multivariate tests against real traffic, with clear success criteria set before the test starts, so decisions are made on evidence rather than internal opinion.

Revenue Measurement
A conversion rate on its own doesn’t tell you if the business is healthier. We tie tests back to pipeline, revenue, or the specific business metric it was meant to move, so the optimization program reports in the language your leadership actually cares about.

How the engagement runs

01

Diagnose & Hypothesize

Analytics review, behavioral research, and a funnel audit to identify where and why visitors disengage. The output is a prioritized list of friction points ranked by revenue impact, not by which fix is easiest.

02

Design & Test

UX, IA, messaging, and CTA changes are built as testable hypotheses, not permanent redesigns. Each change runs as an experiment against real traffic before it’s rolled out broadly.

03

Measure & Refine

Winning tests get implemented. Losing tests get documented, because knowing what doesn’t work is still progress. Either way, the result feeds the next round of hypotheses. This is a loop, not a project with an end date.

Proof this works

Our user funnel optimization case study walks through a systematic A/B testing framework built to resolve funnel friction through exactly this kind of continuous loop: a 13% conversion lift, an 82% increase in CVR, and more than double the intent lift, all from testing against real behavior instead of redesigning on instinct.

Common questions

Is this the same as your general web strategy service?

No. Web strategy sets the direction for your site as a whole. Conversion optimization is the ongoing, data-driven work of improving how well your existing pages turn visitors into pipeline. Many clients run both, but they’re separate workstreams with separate deliverables.

Do we need a full redesign first?

Usually not, and we’d tell you if you did. Most funnel friction gets fixed with targeted changes to messaging, forms, and page structure, tested incrementally, rather than a ground-up rebuild.

How do you decide what to test first?

Priority is set by potential revenue impact, not by internal opinion or whoever has the loudest idea. The analytics and behavioral research phase produces that ranking before any test is designed.

What do we get out of this?

A prioritized backlog of tested changes, a documented record of what worked and what didn’t, and a conversion rate that’s improving because of evidence rather than a one-time guess.

Is this a one-time project?

No. Like the rest of our engagement model, this is a continuous loop. Conversion optimization compounds when it keeps running, not when it stops after one round of tests.

Ready to find out what your funnel is actually telling you?

Your traffic already has an answer for where it’s dropping off. We’re set up to go find it.
